2025 Volunteer Leadership Opportunities

You must be a current chapter member to volunteer. The following role descriptions are high-level summaries of key responsibilities. Full job descriptions with approximate time commitment for each role are available upon request by emailing volunteers@tdaustin.org.


President Elect
1-year term as President-Elect + 2 years as President + 1 year as Past President

Serve alongside the current president and learn the ropes of how to manage the Chapter. Perform administrative and strategic tasks to support ATD Chapter Affiliation Requirements (CARE). Attend and facilitate board meetings, participate in strategic planning sessions, manage relationships with partners and sponsors, and grow your leadership and business skills in preparation for being the incoming Chapter president.

VP of Technology
2-year term

The Vice President of Technology plays a vital role within the ATD Austin Chapter, serving as an elected officer dedicated to enhancing member experiences through technology. This position involves identifying, implementing, and maintaining website content and features, as well as other tools that align with board objectives and support the professional growth of our community. If you’re passionate about leveraging technology to make a difference, this is your opportunity to contribute in a meaningful and impactful way!

Director of Content Curation
1-year term

Elevate the Chapter's thought leadership and member engagement by curating and sharing high-quality educational content. Partner with the Director of Newsletter to align on content strategies for the monthly newsletter and social media. Collaborate with Community of Practice leaders and Programs teams to highlight key trends and insights from the talent development community. Manage content across multiple platforms, including social media, newsletters, and Slack, ensuring relevance and accessibility for Chapter members. Help position ATD Austin as the go-to resource for curated talent development expertise.

Director of Events and Projects
1-year term

Make a difference by shaping meaningful experiences and fostering connections! The Director of Events and Projects oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of chapter events, ensuring their successful implementation and alignment with the chapter's mission and goals. These events, including networking gatherings, workshops, member meetings, and annual conferences, are designed to inspire, educate, and unite the community.

Director of Instructional Design
1-year term

Drive impactful member engagement and champion innovation with ATD Austin! The Director of Instructional Design plays a pivotal role in crafting dynamic and meaningful experiences tailored for our chapter members. By developing, implementing, and refining educational initiatives, this role ensures alignment with the mission of ATD Austin to support the professional growth of our community. These initiatives, including interactive workshops, skill-building sessions, and resource-driven programs, are designed to empower members, foster collaboration, and cultivate a thriving network dedicated to advancing talent development practices.

Director of Branding Design
1-year term

Elevate the organization's identity and leave a lasting impression! The Director of Branding Design supports the development and execution of cohesive branding strategies that align with the chapter's mission and values. This role is essential in shaping the visual and narrative identity of the organization, including designing logos, marketing materials, and digital assets. By ensuring consistency and innovation across all branding efforts, the Director of Branding Design empowers the chapter to stand out, engage its audience effectively, and foster a strong, recognizable presence in the community.
