Training Field 101

Have you ever done a job search and wondered “What does that job title actually do?” and “How does that fit with training?”

Here’s your chance to get a look at job titles and functions that fall under the Workplace Learning and Development Professionals’ bailiwick.

If you are transitioning into the training field, or even just considering it, this presentation is designed for you. It will include how different functions support each other within the training field. Star plans to include information from National ASTD’s research into the Areas of Expertise. This information was used to develop the Certified Professional of Learning and Performance (CPLP) accreditation.

About The Speaker
A co-worker once coined it best “You are a vast resource.” Jane "Star" Fisher offers more than 20 years of experience in the Learning and Development field. She has a M.S. in Instructional and Performance Technology and has earned and maintained the CPLP accreditation. She earned the unique recognition of “Exceptional CPLP Trainer” from the local ASTD chapter for providing years of facilitating CPLP study groups (each cohort is a 9-month program).

Star Fisher has been labeled the “Games Guru” so most likely any presentation she provides will be interactive, allowing the learners to help shape the program.

She is a Senior Associate with Caveo Learning, a learning consulting firm, providing learning solutions to Fortune 1000 and other leading organizations. She specializes in Instructional Design, and improving Caveo’s client’s development of their Learning and Development structure, systems, and personnel.

Just for Fun: Star is also the Guild Principal of the European Medieval Dance Guild locally and teaches dance routinely.
