Our emotions can create passion and drive, resulting in great achievement -- or they can derail our best-laid plans. In the workplace, the impact of emotions is magnified during any period of organizational change. When leaders fail to manage emotions effectively, the result can be organizational chaos.
In this session, Rhonda Klapatch will use a model called FIRO theory to understand how underlying emotions are tied to behavior and how and why we become defensive and resistant to change.

About the Speaker:
Rolanda Klapatch is a Senior Human Elements Practitioner and Managing Partner of The Schutz Company, a consulting and publishing company, and provider of the LIFO® Method and The Human Element® Approach. With practitioners and partners in over 30 countries, she delivers training, coaching, and in-depth practitioner training programs to support consultant excellence and creativity.
Rolanda previously served as the Commissioner for the Maine Department of Labor. She has held high-level management positions for other organizations, served as the Commissioner on the Maine Human Rights Commission, and has more than 10 years experience as a policy facilitator with the Council of Governors' Policy Advisors.
She is an experienced trainer and facilitator, specializing in organizational development, communications, and negotiations.
She attended Queens College, Cambridge University in England, and graduated cum laude from the University of Wisconsin.
