With Laurie Roth
Do you ever feel stuck in a cycle of creating or delivering skill-based training wondering if it will have an impact on performance? Do you wonder if coaches truly understand the importance of their role in influencing behaviors?
This session introduces a fresh perspective on what drives performance and how to cultivate it within teams and coaching and training interventions. We'll explore a mental model that positions knowledge, skills, and attitudes/beliefs as building blocks for capabilities, ultimately influencing behavior. Learn how personal and environmental factors filter these components, and how competency is simply a snapshot of behavior at a given time. This interactive session is designed for leaders, managers, trainers, instructional designers, and anyone interested in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and unlocking potential within individuals and teams.

About Your Speaker
For over two decades, Laurie has cultivated a versatile skillset in talent development, program management, and project management, fueled by a genuine desire to see people and organizations thrive. Laurie holds a Master's degree in instructional design and is currently a Learning and Development Manager at United Heritage Credit Union. Her experience spans various industries, where she has led teams, programs, and projects, and designed and delivered impactful functional training and leadership development programs to enhance employee performance and drive business results. Beyond the work realm, she actively contributes to growing her professional capabilities and the capabilities of others in the local talent development community through Board leadership and volunteer roles with ATD Austin for the last several years. Personally, Laurie enjoys exploring new restaurants with her husband and teenage daughter, going to the occasional rock/metal concert, and devoting as much time and attention as possible to her positively indifferent cat, Tux.
The ATD Austin Chapter has been pre-approved by the ATD Certification Institute to offer educational programs that can be used towards initial eligibility and recertification of the Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) and Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) credentials. This program qualifies for a maximum of 1 point.
