Program Description:

Do you feel overwhelmed at the thought of yet more communication tools like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn -- and how they are changing the way we interact, learn, and communicate?

Keeping up with friends, contacts, and customers can be a full-time job by itself. All too often, what was supposed to be a convenient way to communicate becomes an endless source of distractions. Multi-tasking seems to be the new norm...but what are the implications for our attention, concentration, and relationships?

While it may seem more "productive" to just avoid social media, you don't have to lose the value that it offers to your personal or professional life. Attend this session and learn:

  • Glimpses into the future of technology
  • Insight into digital convergence, and how this affects you
  • The truth about multi-tasking
  • The most valuable skill for the future
  • Techniques to maintain focus, even amid unending distractions
  • Ideas to control information and technology...so that it doesn't control you

Workplace Learning & Performance Competencies:

  • Social Learning
  • Foundational - Personal / Career Enhancement
