Mix a little psychology, sociology, computer science, and education together, sprinkle in a dash of cognitive science and anthropology, and what do you get?  That combination of disparate fields gives you learning science, an interdisciplinary subject that has resulted in new ideas, new methodologies, and new ways of thinking about learning. In this session, learning scientist Dr. Julia Huprich will share findings from this relatively nascent field that can help learning and development professionals strengthen their practice.  Participants will also be introduced to several valuable resources for their L&D toolkit.

Meet Your Presenter

Julia Huprich is the Vice President of Learning Science at Intellum, where she leads the initiative to establish evidence-based practices in corporate learning and customer education that drive real-world results. She earned her PhD from the Department of Learning Sciences at Georgia State University in 2020. A former librarian, she previously worked as the Director of Training and Continuing Education for the Georgia Public Library Service, where she provided e-learning and in-person training for Georgia’s 4,000+ public library staff. She has been involved in training and development for over 10 years in several capacities, including instructional designer, trainer, and facilitator.
