The Competitive Advantage of Accessibility
Host: Heather Poggi-Mannis
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Americans with disabilities have an estimated $175 BILLION in discretionary spending power. This is four times the spending power of tweens (age 8-14 year olds), a demographic much sought after by businesses. Is your business – website or other electronic information - accessible to Americans with disabilities? Are your outreach programs or training accessible?
In this session, we define accessibility as information that can be perceived and acted upon by people with low or no vision, who are deaf or hard of hearing, or who may have mobility issues (like not being able to move a mouse). Come and learn how accessibility is making a difference from a business point of view as well as a practice of being inclusive.
