Austin ATD Leader in Learning Award
For the seventh consecutive year, ATD Austin is hosting the Leader in Learning program, which recognizes outstanding work in the learning and development arena. Local learning and development professionals are encouraged to submit projects for this initiative. Applications are reviewed by Certified Professionals in Learning and Performance (CPLPs) who determine a recipient for the top honor each year. In addition, this initiative serves as a platform for sharing expertise in the learning and development community. Applicants are invited to participate in ATD Austin’s fall summit by describing their award submission, sharing what is remarkable about their work, sharing lessons learned, and sharing advice for others working on similar projects.
There will be an information session about applying for the award on Monday, July 22 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at New Horizons. Anyone interested in finding out about the application process and judging is encouraged to attend. Questions can be sent to the Leader in Learning Coordinator, Linda Warren (firstname.lastname@example.org) at any time.
The recipient of the Leader in Learning Award is announced at the Austin ATD awards banquet during Employee Learning Week in early December.

Focused Learning Solution
This training quickly prepares new hires to provide service to the restaurant’s customers by teaching them how to sell, communicate and elevate Hopdoddy’s offerings. The style is energetic and well suited to the business. The message is delivered in an upbeat and memorable way. The outcome is additional sales of food offerings to enhance the customer’s experience.
In recognition of workplace learning and performance improvement as essential components of high performing organizations, the Austin chapter of the Association for Talent Development (ATD) created the Leader in Learning Award to highlight initiatives that enhance organizational achievement. This award will be given to an individual, group, or organization that demonstrates exemplary use of training to improve organizational performance.
Entries are accepted from individuals or training teams based in the Austin area (Bastrop, Bell, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Travis, and Williamson counties). The training can be implemented anywhere in the world. It can be for employee training or for an external audience. The training must have been created within the previous three years.
A team of learning and development professionals led by individuals who have the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential will judge entries.
Presentation of the Leader in Learning Award will be the highlight of Austin’s participation in ATD’s Employee Learning Week. The winner will be announced at Austin ATD’s year-end awards banquet in December. All applicants are encouraged to attend the award banquet where they will have the opportunity to share information about their training initiatives with banquet attendees.
