As students head back to school, ATD Austin is partnering with our community to recognize an outstanding local teacher.

Here's how you can participate:

Nominate a Teacher
Know a teacher who goes above and beyond for their students? We'd love to hear their story. Submit a nomination before the event, and we'll recognize one deserving educator with classroom supplies and resources to help start the school year strong.

Bring School Supplies
We're collecting new school supplies at the event to help stock one local classroom. If you're able, consider bringing notebooks, pencils, markers, tissues, glue sticks, dry erase markers, or other classroom essentials.

Together, we can help make the start of the school year a little brighter for a local teacher and their students.

CPTD Study Group

Fall Cohort - Free Information Session

This free information session will give you an overview of the virtual study group and what you can expect. This study group is designed for talent development professionals who are pursuing the CPTD designation.

Attend the free information session on Tuesday, August 25, 2025 6:30 CST to learn about the certification.

The cohort will run Tuesdays, September 1st - November 17th, 2026 from 6:30 - 8:30 CST.

WHO CAN REGISTER:

The study group is open to anyone, anywhere who is interested in pursuing the CPTD certification.

International participants are welcome.

ATD or ATD Chapter membership is not required, but ATD partner chapters receive discounted pricing on registration for the full cohort.

MEETING DETAILS:

Registered participants will be sent the virtual meeting logon information 24 hours in advance of the session. Virtual meeting times are:

4:30 to 6:30 pm Pacific Time

5:30 to 7:30 pm Mountain Time

6:30 to 8:30 pm Central Time

7:30 to 9:30 pm Eastern Time

A Deep Dive into Frederic Laloux's Reinventing Organizations Framework

with Matt Fulmer

What is a Teal organization, and how does it differ from a traditional organizational structure? More importantly, where does your own organization fit?

Join long-time ATD Austin member Matt Fulmer as he launches ATD Austin's newest Community of Practice: Organization Development (OD). In this interactive session, we'll explore Frédéric Laloux's Reinventing Organizations framework and examine the evolutionary spectrum of organizational paradigms: from traditional, hierarchical organizations to self-managing "Teal" organizations.

Together, we'll discuss how organizational structure influences leadership, decision-making, culture, and talent development, and why understanding your organization's current operating style is essential for creating meaningful, sustainable change.

In this session, you'll:

Explore the organizational paradigms described in Reinventing Organizations.

Learn what distinguishes self-managing "Teal" organizations from more traditional structures.

Diagnose your organization's current operating style.

Discover how to align talent development and organizational development strategies with your organization's reality.

Connect with fellow L&D and OD professionals to discuss practical applications of the framework.

Whether you're leading change initiatives, developing leaders, or simply curious about new approaches to organizational design, you'll leave with a deeper understanding of how organizations evolve and practical ideas you can apply in your own workplace.

About Your Facilitator:

Matt Fulmer is an instructional designer/learning and development professional who serves as the Director of Instructional Design at the Texas Association of School Business Officials, a nonprofit organization supporting public schools.

Matt believes that love of learning must be inspired and strives to create learning experiences that are both engaging and experiential, with the overarching objective of inspiring and encouraging true self-directed learners.

He began his professional journey as higher education faculty and transitioned to professional education. Matt holds a master’s degree in digital media from Goddard College, and recently completed an MS in Organizational Leadership at St. Edward’s University.

Isla Reddin, Corporate Performance Coach

Isla Reddin is a corporate performance coach passionate about bringing diverse tools and strategies to support individuals and teams to grow and reach their desired goals. Her background in curriculum design, training, and project management informs her coaching practice. Isla believes new tools and paradigms of learning need to be constantly created to meet the needs of individuals and society.

In her early career, Isla supported global sales, media, and PR events for international automotive, pharmaceutical, and financial services companies. In the past 15 years, she has worked in Europe and the US as a consultant and corporate performance coach with multiple clients, and as an entrepreneur in the tech, and education spaces. She understands how to help leaders and teams handle the diverse challenges they face with practical, creative, and flexible solutions.

The ATD Austin Chapter has been pre-approved by the ATD Certification Institute to offer educational programs that can be used towards initial eligibility and recertification of the Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) and Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) credentials. This program qualifies for a maximum of 1 point.
